CIT Application Information: Must Read

Dear CIT Candidates:

Thank you for your interest in Camp iHope’s LIT/CIT program.  The LIT/CIT Program teaches life skills and leadership skills.  These skills include communication, teamwork, caring, responsibility, respect, handling conflict, and problem solving. These skills may be used in all aspects of life, including home, school, sports, youth groups, work, and in the community.  Issues specific to making a successful transition from camper to camp staff will be addressed as a CIT.  LIT/CIT’s will be mentored by the LIT/CIT Counselors and the LIT/CIT Coordinator.  Participation in the LIT/CIT program does not guarantee future acceptance as a camp volunteer.

The following criteria must be met in order to be considered for an interview:
1.    Completion of application prior to the deadline
2.    Submit 1-2 paragraphs answering the question “How I will make a difference as a CIT?

Once everything is completed, you will be contacted for an interview with the interview team.

To apply:
Access the application through the Camp iHope website at www.campihope.org. Choose Get Involved from the menu bar, then from the drop down menu, choose Apply. You will be linked to the CampDoc registration site. New Volunteers: When you enter your email address, you will be directed to set-up a new account.  Returning Volunteers: Enter your email address & password from last year to access your account. Password retrieval help is available.  

The next step will ask you to register for a session as camp staff, the next screen will offer a Protection Plan (offered to all CampDoc clients-it is not required by Camp iHope) once accepted or declined, hit continue and proceed to the confirmation screen. On this screen, you will see your name with $0 dollar tuition listed. Click confirm on this screen and you will be directed to the remainder of the application. Within the application there will be a question about what camp role you are applying for, choose LIT or CIT.   For returning volunteers, portions of your application will be pre-populated with last year’s information, please review carefully & confirm the information is still valid or edit.  By completing the application and seeking a volunteer position all applicants are authorizing Camp iHope to complete a criminal background check.  

Application deadline is Friday, March 30, 2020.  Selected volunteers will be notified of acceptance via email by 5/11/20
